Manicures are a woman's best friend! A manicure is simply a cosmetic treatment for the hands and fingers done at a nail salon or at home. A manicure usually includes filing and sculpting the free part of fingers, trimming and pushing any dead tissue away from the nails, the application of nail polish, and any other treatment of the hands. For the hands, manicures usually start at the tips of the fingers and work outward. There are several kinds of manicures that you can do and it all depends on your preference and your skin tone. If you are looking for a simple manicure and one that won't take too long to do, you can go for a basic manicure done with just gel manicures which are short but very manageable and don't require too much effort from you. A basic manicure like this doesn't require a lot of time because you can complete it without having to apply too much polish as the gel already has a sufficient amount of color for it. If you want to do some more intensive work on your nails such as filing and sculpting, then you can go for the full blown manicures that involve applying some sort of polish to cover and enhance the natural look of your nails without making them too harsh or too dull.

Some of the most popular kinds of manicures that women often do include French manicures or Cucumber manicures where the manicures are inspired by the colors of fresh cut fruits such as cucumbers, oranges, and grapes. Other manicures include Berry manicures which are inspired by the colors of dried flowers such as roses, daisies, and lavender. Ombre manicures are also inspired by the colors of the hair and eyebrows. Most manicures however are inspired by the colors of one's nails and there are no other reasons for their application except for vanity reasons.

Pedicures

A Pedicures is an external cosmetic treatment of both the nails and toenails, comparable to a manicure. Pedicures are performed for aesthetic, medical purposes. They have become popular all over the world in recent years. Pedicures, in general, require approximately 30 minutes of time for each treatment. They can be done at home, in a beauty salon, spa, or other health care facility. Pedicures have several benefits. They increase the health of your feet by making them less likely to hurt when you walk. They improve the look of your feet by giving them a polished look that is easier to maintain. They allow the toenails and the skin under the nail to breathe. If pedicures become too regular, however, they can dry up and crack, eventually leading to cracked, flaky feet that can look unsightly.

Nail Salons

A nail salon or nail spa is a specialized beauty salon business that mainly offers nail care products like nail polish, acrylic nails, manicures, and nail additions. Often, nail salons offer skin care services as part of their service. Nail Salons or spas also provide spa treatments using clay, mud, vitamins, and other topical or oral supplements. Some nail salons offer spa services as part of a package deal that includes pedicure and manicure services. The prices at these types of establishments may include services rendered only or they may also include spa services like mud, clay, vitamins, etc., and the price will vary according to the specific service offered.

Nail technicians typically work in nail salons or spas but some also work in nail studios and beauty schools. Many nail technicians earn a commission on each sale of nail polish, acrylic nails, or added-to-nails sold to customers in these establishments. While earning this small portion of the profits, many nail technicians make a living by doing contract jobs outside their homes. Because many nail salons and spas only employ people with a high school diploma or its equivalent, many young people with only a high school diploma cannot become certified to do this work. To resolve this issue, some nail technicians who want to become certified to perform the work at home by taking an approved training course from a local, state, or national certification institute.
