Are you thinking of installing Plantation Shutters on your own but do not know where to start or where to go from? In fact, most people would probably think that it is impossible to install your own shutters without spending a lot of money. But the truth is, most of the parts required to make them are relatively inexpensive. In fact, most of the things you can purchase at any home improvement store can be used to make your own shutters for a fraction of the cost of buying ready-made ones.Although it may look like a complicated project, installing plantation shutters is actually fairly straightforward if you have all the right instructions. Instructions for making louver frames and pocket holes are typically found in books dedicated to the history of interior decorating. If you are feeling brave, then you can even design your own louver frame using two pieces of wood and a nail or a screwdriver. Instructions on how to measure your window properly and how to create pocket holes will also come in handy. For example, although there are instructions on how to measure for the correct pocket holes, if the measurements are off by just a couple of millimeters, then it will still work in your favor because you will be able to make the necessary adjustments before starting installation. Once you have everything together, then it's just a matter of hanging them!

Before measuring, it is important to take note of several things such as the width and height of the louvers. You also need to determine how many panels you will need since this will affect the dimensions of your installation. After measuring, cut the boards to the necessary dimensions and then attach them to the louver frame with nails or screws. The height of the panels should be the same as the height of the louver frame.

Faux Wood Blinds

Installing faux wood blinds requires some practice to ensure your installation is smooth and foolproof. Before you begin, make sure the Faux Wood Blinds are attached securely to the window's mounting points and that they are level. The instructions included with your faux wood blinds should give you detailed instructions for each step in the process. If you have any questions or are having difficulties, it's a good idea to consult the instructions that come with your faux wood blinds. Next, you need to measure the size of the faux wood blinds opening so that you can determine the number of brackets required for your window. Position the brackets at appropriate mark points on the inside corners of the windows, using the appropriate screws to fasten the brackets. Screw the brackets securely to the mounting points on both sides of the window, using the appropriate screws. Repeat the steps for each bracket on both sides of the blinds, being sure to attach all brackets before moving on to the next bracket.

Blind Installation

Blind installation is the most popular form of window Blind Installation. There are basically two types of blind installation: Top Down and Under Floor Blind. These are often recommended when windows only have a lift mechanism, other hardware, or other obstructions that would block inside blinds from being installed properly. Top Down Installation: This is the quickest type of installation, but the instructions can be a bit vague. In this case, the installer must determine the placement of each blind shade using the measurements of the room. The installer will then position the blinds exactly where they are described in the instructions. Be sure to mark these instructions on the outside of the blinds.

Be prepared, if you do not have a tape measure, to trace the location of the holes in the wood with a pencil or other marking material so you do not screw up the blind installation! Under Floor Installation: These blinds are placed over the floor joists before the installation is complete. These are easy to install using templates and the correct instructions. The templates are cut to the appropriate size then laid out precisely on the floor. Be sure that the templates fit exactly over the top and bottom of the windows or the shades will be either too big or too small for your window blinds when installed!
